Today is a bittersweet day for Yellocard fans because the band released a brand new song and a brand new video, but unfortunately they announced that they will be breaking up. The new song is appropriately titled “Rest in Peace” and the music video is a retrospective of the band’s career.
The band will be releasing a new self-titled album on September 30 and they posted a heartfelt message on their website saying that this will be their final album and they’ll be going out with one last world tour. You can read the full message here along with an excerpt below.
Putting this into words hasn’t been easy. When saying farewell, it is hard to know where to start, especially when there are so many reasons not to say it, but the time has come to share this news. After countless discussions and months of thought, we have decided that it is time for Yellowcard to come to an end. This will be our last album and our final world tour.
