The past few days have been interesting for Twenty One Pilots. The band rocked Reading and Leeds to a crowd of raucous fans, and Tyler unfortunately had a bit of a rough ride while crowd surfing.
The action continued on Sunday night when Twenty One Pilots won the 2016 VMA for Best Rock Video for “Heathens.”
Now Billboard is reporting that Twenty One Pilots have become the first band ever to top the Pop and Alternative radio airplay charts simultaneously. It was noted that the charts will update on Billboard.com on August 30 and when they do “Ride” will jump from 2-1 on the pop charts and “Heathens” will jump from 3-1 on the Alternative charts.
“Heathens” is the third song by Twenty One Pilots to reach No. 1 on the Alternative charts this year, “Ride” is also the second song by the band to reach No. 1 on the Pop charts this year. Twenty One Pilots and Justin Bieber are currently tied with two No. 1 songs on the Pop charts this year.
