Ed Sheeran is one of the most popular singers on the planet right now, and you can’t go anywhere without hearing his voice. Ed recently lent his voice to an episode of “Game of Thrones” where he made a cameo as a solider in the Lannister army, but the cameo didn’t go over so well with some fans.

After the “Game of Thrones” season 7 premiere aired, people took to Twitter to rip on Sheeran’s cameo, and he has since disappeared from the social media service.

Many people thought his disappearance was due to the negative backlash, but Ed has denied such rumors. Ed Sheeran posted the following on Instagram:

“Last i’ll say on this. I came off Twitter Coz I was always intending to come off Twitter, had nothing to do with what people said about my game of thrones cameo, because I am in game of thrones, why the hell would I worry what people thought about that. It’s clearly f***in’ awesome. Timing was just a coincidence, but believe what you want. Here is an unrelated picture of me and my wonderful manager riding off into the sunset together”
