Taylor Swift released “1989” in 2014, and the album was a noticeable departure from some of her previous work.
On “1989” Swift went in more of a pop direction, which worked out really well for her because the album was a huge success. Now it looks like T-Swift is ready to switch things up once again for her next album.
The Sun is reporting that Taylor Swift is exploring a more “urban sound” in the studio right now, and she’s enlisted the help of Drake. A source noted that Taylor is looking to go in a different direction and the new music is said to be a mix of edgy hip-hop and R&B sounds.
Drake has been in the studio writing with Taylor, and he’s also set to produce a few tracks. Drake also reportedly sings on one of the new tracks.
In recent weeks it’s been rumored that Taylor and Drake are dating, but a source noted to NME that that’s not the case. They’re just close friends who happen to share a love of music.
As of right now there’s no word on when Taylor Swift plans on releasing her new album, but considering the fact that here last album was released in 2014, it’s probably safe to say we’ll be hearing new music next year.
