Green Day recently announced that they’ll be releasing a brand new song titled “Bang Bang” on August 11th. Besides that the band have been quiet on the details.
Ever since the announcement was made earlier this week fans have been wondering what we can expect from the first new Green Day track in several years. Luckily radio DJ Nike Rivers of 107.7 in Buffalo, NY is one person who doesn’t have to wonder anymore and he’s telling us all about it.
According to Nik the song is reminiscent of early Green Day and he compares it to the band’s “Dookie” era sound. You can read his quick preview below.
“So if you are a fan of the early, punky Green Day, you will LOVE the new song Bang, Bang. And when I say early, think Dookie, but not “When I come Around” Dookie, but more “Welcome To Paradise”, “Burnout” & “Chump” Dookie…With hints of Kerplunk & the rawness of 39 Smooth. I’m excited for the #AltFamily to hear this one!”
Sounds pretty awesome right?
When asked on Twitter what he would give the song on a scale of 1 to 10 Nik gave it an 8.
As a fan of the band. First listen. An 8. https://t.co/2KiPvhVULo
