Tom DeLonge has always been interested in the search for extraterrestrial life and thanks to the song “Aliens Exist” most Blink-182 fans are well aware of that fact. But Tom isn’t a member of Blink-182 anymore and with the help of Matt Skiba, Mark and Travis have moved on without him. It’s ok though, Tom has plenty of fun hobbies to keep him busy, such as his passion for aliens.
Tom recently spoke to Mic and he talked about his book “Sekret Machines Book 1: Chasing Shadows.” The interviewer asked if Tom had stepped away from Blink to do what he’s doing now and Tom says that it’s not about Blink, it’s a matter of national security.
“Well it’s not so much about Blink. It’s about what I’m doing with my life now. When you’re an individual like me, dealing with something that’s a national security issue, and you’re being gifted with the opportunity to communicate something you’ve been passionate about your whole life — something that has the opportunity to change the world over time — being a small part of that is enormously important for my life path.
But I can’t do everything. I can’t tour nine months out of the year with enough time to do the enormity of what I’m setting out to do.”
Tom went on to say that he knows things about aliens and UFOs that he can’t talk about and he hopes his book will help people start a conversation about the topic. You can check out the full interview here.
