Linkin Park’s debut album “Hybrid Theory” is considered to be a classic by many, as fans loved the way the band mixed nu-metal, hip hop and other styles. But nowadays Linkin Park is making music that’s much more influenced by pop and EDM, and some fans long for the days when the band was making heavy music.

Even though “Hybrid Theory” is now 17 years old, fans are still hoping to see the band embrace their classic sound even though they’ve clearly moved on.

Chester Bennington recently spoke to NME about the album and he noted that although he loves it, he also feels it’s time for people to move on.

“When we made Hybrid Theory, I was the oldest guy in the band and in my early ’20s. That’s why I guess I’m like: ‘Why are we still talking about Hybrid Theory? It’s f–king years ago. It’s a great record, we love it. Like, move the f–k on. You know what I mean?”

Bennington was also asked to comment on people who think the band sold out, and he’s ok with people not liking Linkin Park’s music.

“We were asked, ‘What do you think of people who say you sold out?’ I don’t care. If you like the music, fantastic. If you don’t like it, that’s your opinion too. Fantastic.”
