Gerard Way has been busy working on art, music and comics ever since My Chemical Romance split, and even though he has plenty of other things to talk about, he’s not shy about answering MCR questions when asked.
Of course the question that everyone wants to know the answer to is whether My Chemical Romance will ever get back together.
Gerard Way was recently asked about a possible reunion during an interview with iNews. He said that the band will always be there for them if they want it, but everybody is in a good place right now, and he wouldn’t want to do anything to disrupt that.
“It’s a tricky thing, because you have four guys that really get along, and I think we all fully understand each other now and love each other,” he says. “We all got together recently and it was wonderful – we didn’t even talk about the band or playing shows again. “I don’t know if anything will happen in the future, but what I do know is everyone has a really great life right now.”
“I think My Chem will always be there for us if we want it, but it adds a layer of stress. When something gets really big like that, it’s hard on you for many reasons, and it’s very stressful, so I wouldn’t want to disrupt anybody’s life right now.”
So it doesn’t sound like they’ll be getting back together in the near future, but at least he hasn’t ruled out a possible reunion.
